For those of you that were tuned in to Super Bowl 2013 yesterday, you know there was a blackout. If you have been tuned in to social media today you’ll also have seen this ad from Oreo making the rounds.

What you may not know is that Oreo took advantage of the blackout and created this ad within minutes and had Tweeted it out with the caption “Power out? No problem.” – getting upwards of 13,000 hits last night alone. Same image was posted on Facebook.

A great example of being on the ball and using social media to your advantage. Nicely done, Oreo!

This is apropos – more and more people are looking for ways to scale down – get rid of the unnecessary and keep the meaningful. This illustrates minimalism beautifully.
